I am originally from the Seattle area. I did my undergraduate study in Early Childhood Development and Education at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. During college I was an active member in the Student National Education Association and held the position of president my senior year. I had the experience of being a student delegate to the 2012 Idaho Education Association Delegate Assembly.

MY

PAST

My career in education began in high school when I held an after school job at Renton School District in Washington State. I continued working there throughout my time in college. I have also had work and practicum experience in daycare, Head Start, and elementary school settings.

This fall I will be completing my student teaching at Grasslake Elementary in the Kent School District. Here I will be working with a class of first grade students and the special education program while designing and teaching lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum, Washington State Standards and the Common Core State Standards.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

ABOUT ME

Apart from my professional life, I am happily married to my husband of one year, Stephen. Stephen is a die-hard Washington State University Cougar alumni and fan. We both love working with children and have done volunteer work with them for years, including working at an orphanage in Tijuana over the summer before college.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy scrapbooking, photography, and writing. Someday I would love to travel to Italy, publish a children’s book, and see the Northern lights.
